We collect what we need to sell you coconuts and get them to your door: your name, address, contact info, and order history. A PCI-compliant payment processor handles your card; we never see or store the full number.
We don't sell your personal information. We never share your phone number or texting opt-in with anyone for their marketing. The companies that help us run deliveries only get what they need to do their job.
1Who we are and what this covers
This Privacy Policy explains how The Honest Coconut Holdings LLC ("The Honest Coconut," "we," "us") collects, uses, and shares personal information when you use our website, place orders, receive deliveries, or communicate with us, including by SMS. It applies to our residential and office delivery customers.
2Information we collect
- Account and order information: name, delivery address, email, phone number, order history, membership status, credit balance, and delivery preferences.
- Payment information: processed by our third-party payment processor. We receive confirmation of payment and the card's last four digits and brand for your reference; we do not store full card numbers.
- Household information you choose to provide: first names of household members authorized to receive deliveries. See Section 6 regarding children.
- SMS data: if you opt in, your phone number, your consent record, and the date, time, and content of messages between you and us.
- Referral information: if you were referred, the referral code or link used, so credits go to the right people.
- Technical basics: standard web logs (IP address, browser type, pages visited) used for security and to keep the site working.
3How we use it
- To fulfill and deliver your orders and manage your account and membership.
- To charge your card at dispatch and manage billing.
- To send transactional communications: order confirmations, delivery updates, receipts, and account notices, by email and, only with your separate consent, by SMS.
- To operate the credit and referral programs.
- To respond when you contact us, and to prevent fraud and abuse.
- To comply with law.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing.
4Mobile information and SMS
No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent will not be shared with any third parties, excluding the aggregators and providers of the text-message services necessary to deliver messages to you.
We use a text-messaging service provider solely to send and receive the messages described in our SMS Program Terms. You can opt out at any time by replying STOP. Opting out of SMS does not affect your ability to order or receive deliveries.
5Who we share information with
We share personal information only with service providers who need it to perform services for us, under agreements that restrict their use of it:
- Our payment processor — payment processing and secure card management.
- Our text-messaging provider — SMS delivery, only for customers who opt in.
- Our email provider — transactional email delivery.
- Hosting and infrastructure providers — to run our platform securely.
We may also disclose information if required by law or legal process, to protect the rights and safety of our customers, drivers, or business, or as part of a business transaction such as a merger or sale, in which case this policy will continue to apply to information collected under it and we will notify you of any change in ownership.
6Children
Our services are for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. An adult account holder may list a household member, including a minor, by first name only, solely so our drivers can identify who may receive a delivery. We do not send SMS to anyone identified as under 18; all SMS consent is given by, and messages are sent to, adults. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
7Retention and security
We keep personal information while your account is active and as needed for legal, tax, and accounting purposes, then delete or de-identify it. We use industry-standard safeguards including encryption in transit, access controls, and secure payment tokenization through Stripe. No system is perfectly secure; if a breach affects your information, we will notify you as required by law.
8Your choices and rights
- Access, correction, deletion: email hello@thehonestcoconut.com to request a copy of your information, fix something, or delete your account and data. We will verify your identity and respond within 30 days.
- SMS: reply STOP to any message to opt out; reply START to rejoin.
- Email: transactional emails (receipts, delivery notices) are part of the service; any marketing email will include an unsubscribe link.
9Changes to this policy
We will post updates here with a revised "Last updated" date and, for material changes, notify you by email or account notice.
